Welcome to Extended Care! My name is Tammy Tyree and I am so excited to be spending my mornings and evenings with the students at St George School. Many of you already know me as “Mimi”, but for some of you I am a new face, so let me introduce myself. I am married to Boone Tyree, I have four children, three of which are grown , Courtney, Dillon, and Olivia, and Nash who will be in the 5th grade this year at St George. I also have four grandchildren Cali, Braylee, Deagan, and Max. I enjoy family time immensely! I love family vacations, visiting Courtney in FL, watching Nash play sports, having sleepovers with my grandkids, our very large family of dogs, and gardening. I adore children and always feel comfort when they are near. I have spent the last 24 years loving, teaching, and watching children grow. I opened an in-home daycare almost 24 years ago. I was blessed to be home enjoying my children and many others. I always knew that spending my days with children was why God put me on earth. In 2014 my husband and I built Mimi’s Playschool and I obtained my CDA. I was the owner and director there for 5 ½ years. In 2020 we sold the daycare and I remained director there until recently, when I decided I would like to spend more time at our great school.
As director of Extended Care I will insure that your child is offered a fun, safe, and loving environment. The Extended Care staff and I are there to accommodate each child’s needs and cares. I will incorporate relaxing free time that children require and deserve after a long day at school, with planned activities and crafts. I will see that parent requests for homework completion is listed as well.
I will allow the children to help plan snacks for the following month while encouraging fun and nutritious ideas.
I will send home a monthly calendar that will include our snack plans, craft projects, and any planned activities.
I encourage parent communication and I am available at all times. Feel free to call or text. 573-619-5780
Lastly, I spoke with Mrs. Grellner about her requirements of what the children were allowed to address me as, to some I have always been Mimi. She assured me she is fine with Mimi. If you prefer Tammy or Mrs. Tyree, that is ok as well.
I am excited to get start and I am open to all your suggestions.
It is going to be a GREAT year!
God Bless,
Tammy Tyree (Mimi)
